Elisabéte Bina Monteiro nasceu em Porto Alegre, Rio Grande do Sul, Brasil em 7 de novembro de 1952. Formou-se em Comunicação Social pela PUC em 1977, com especialização em Publicidade e Propaganda. Em 1980 cursa “Elementos Pictóricos com Fernando Baril; em 1982, participa da Escola de Arte da Secretaria de Educação e Cultura/RS; em 1983, Serigrafia no Atelier Livre da Prefeitura de Porto Alegre; em 1984, “Interseções: da Reflexão e do Fazer em Artes Plásticas” com Monica Zielinsky; “Exercício da Expressão”, com Rubens Gerschmann; “Workshop” com Luis Paulo Baravelli.
Em 1999 começa a dar aula de técnica de pintura. A partir de 2002 começa a presidir a Chico Lisboa- Associação Riograndense de Artes Plásticas Francisco Lisboa. Em 2004 foi reeleita por mais dois anos como presidente. Em 2006 fez Mestrado em Museologia no Instituto de Artes da Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul. Em 2013 começa a atuar como Diretora Cultural da AAMAC, Museu de Arte Contemporânea RGS, que se mantem até hoje.



Elisabéte Bina Monteiro was Born in Brazil on November 7th, 1952. She has Italian and Brazilian nacionalities. Graduated in Social Communication at the Pontifica Universidade Católica do Rio Grande do Sul in 1977, she has specialized in Advertising and Propaganda. In 1980, she attended the course on Pictorial Elements by Fernando Baril; in 1982, took part of the School of Fine Arts of the State Department of Education and Culture of Rio Grande do Sul; in 1983, attended the silkscreen course at the Atelier Livre da Prefeitura, Porto Alegre; in 1984, she attended Monica Zielinsky’s course “Interseções: da Reflexão e do Fazer em Artes Plásticas” (Intersections between Fine Arts Thought and Making); Rubens Gerschmann’s “Exercício da Expressão” (The Exercise of Expression), and Luis Paulo Baravellicom’ Workshop.
In 1999 she began to teach painting technique. In 2002 she began his activities as the President of Chico Lisboa - Associação Riograndense de Artes Plásticas Francisco Lisboa (Rio Grande do Sul state Association of Fine Arts), being reelected for 2 years, in 2004. She started her Master’s Degree Course on Museology at the Institute of Fine Arts of the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul state, ending in 2005.
